Statement: Club Q Shooting

Austin Pride woke up Sunday to the devastating news that yet another act of gun violence had taken 5 lives from our LGBTQIA+ community. Even more devastating the shooting happened in what should be a safe space for our community and brought back the fear we all felt after the Pulse Massacre. It is another reminder to remain vigilant and aware of our surroundings. It is Austin Pride’s sincerest hope that in the wake of so many tragic events; we can come together and unite against hate and bigotry, with the hope to change the hearts and minds of those that wish us harm.
